Meet Katie
I can SO CLEARLY remember the frustration of those early days as an illustrator. I was working all of the part time jobs (selling bath bombs in Lush, babysitting all of the babies) then squishing in as much freelance illustration as I could into my rare days off. I was absolutely knackered. And so very, very skint.
In 2016, though, something clicked in my brain, and I set off on an absolute mission to figure out this illustration career thing. I'm pleased to report that even though I'm still a shy, sensitive introvert with late-diagnosed ADHD, I've figured out ways to make it work. My live illustration business has kept chugging along, bringing in over £100k per year and supporting my family nicely.
I've worked with some fancy big clients (Google, Netflix, The United Nations, to name a few) and helped a LOT of illustrators in my other business The Good Ship Illustration. I'm not a special unicorn. I just figured some stuff out and now I can't shut up about it.

Are you charging enough for live illustration?
Pricing is an absolute pain in the butt and people have SO many weird ideas about it, but I created this for the version of me who was stuck earning £75 per week working as a nanny and wondering how people managed to earn a sustainable income from illustration. I hope it helps you too!
